Role overview

To complete a consolidated analytical report focusing on youth and civic engagement especially youth in disadvantaged communities based on focus group discussions and data surveys conducted in selected districts within 3 designated provinces including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Songkla province across Thailand.

• An update context analysis, which includes a mapping of VSO’s previous intervention in the respective geographic geographical areas
• A detailed participatory power and social exclusion analysis
• A programme design, with support from Programme Manager, which includes:
  • Focusing on primary actors, partners, key stakeholders, marginalized groups
  • Theory of change(s)
  • Result framework/indicators
  • Methodologies for testing assumption
  • Sector and geographic focus
  • Proposed approaches/intervention
  • Identify appropriate partners and relationship to bring about the change
  • Sustainable impact on the lives of primary actors

Skills, qualifications and experience

• Enthusiastic social researcher with at least two years’ relevant experience and interest in youth participation and civic engagement. Degree in Social Science or related degree.
• Good technical research skills. Experience of field research and using different tools and principle knowledge in both qualitative and quantitative data collection.
• Experience working for non-profit organisations. Knowledge of donor financial reporting procedures.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar field.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience of using accounting software, SUN Accounts system preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (Thai).
• Good organization and prioritisation to deliver results.
• Flexibility to adapt, positive attitude towards change, and a constructive approach to problem solving.
• Commitment to VSO’s values.

This is Consultant Agreement for a duration of 3 months. Applicants must have the right to work in Thailand. We will be unable to obtain a visa and work permit for non-Thai nationals.
