JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator is expected to contribute towards the achievement of activities outlined in the Life Skills Development Program Logical Framework, Workplan, Performance Measurement Framework and Budget. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Program Manager, Life Skills Development Program to manage and develop the project. This position will involve a wide variety of activities including: 1) project administration; 2) supporting the Training Officer in training teachers from Schools and the Education Service Area Offices (ESAO), training staff at Youth Rehabilitation Centers on using sport and play as a learning tool for holistic child development and training partner organization staff in implementing Right To Play activities; 3) coordinating regular activities and special events in collaboration with colleagues and partners; 4) supporting partners through monitoring and evaluating visits to ensure the Right To Play concepts are being implemented; 5) building on existing relationships with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice, UNICEF, and other partners and networking and identifying additional programming .
Location Description:
The position is based in Bangkok with regular travel in bordering provinces and Nakhon Sawan and occasion travel to other locations around the country for the purpose of conducting teacher, volunteer and partner staff training, and regular monitoring and evaluation visits. Thus, the successful candidate must be willing to travel out of Bangkok town for up to a week at a time. The position is also expected to provide support to other projects of Right To Play in Thailand from time to time, as deemed necessary by the Country Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Administration
Complete weekly and monthly activity reports and submit to the Program Manager in a timely manner;
Ensure transparent accounting of project finances in line with Right To Play standard operating procedures and regulations, and report monthly to the Program Manager and Finance Officer;
Write stories from the field for newsletters and the Right To Play website as required;
Collect monthly data in line with the Performance Measurement Framework;
Ensure transparent management of Right To Play assets;
Arrange for storage and delivery of supplies to participating partners.
Adult Education and Workshop Facilitation:
Review existing and prepare new training material in coordination with the Regional Training Officer and Training Officer
Deliver engaging and relevant training workshops to participating Leaders
Maintain transparent training schedule for the Youth Center, ESAO Directors and teachers together with the Training Officer.
Coordination of Regular Activities and Special Events
Motivate teachers to utilize Right To Play’s ideas in their classroom;
Ensure ESAOs are aware and consulted on training schedules;
Ensure that the Youth Center, school directors and teachers understand Right To Play’s monitoring and evaluation system as it relates to reporting on children and teachers actively involved in sport and play activities, and that all activities involving children are included in the numbers reported;
Coordinate with other NGOs/CBOs to ensure participation in partner events;
Organize regular community Play Days to promote physical health and activity.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Assist in gathering information for Outcome Performance Reports, through regular Monitoring and Evaluation visits to the field, as per the Performance Measurement Framework and Logical Framework for the Program.
Networking, Donor Engagement, and Partnership Building
Maintain a good working relationship with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice, ESAO, schools, youth centers, donors and partners;
Cooperate with NGOs and CBOs based in Bangkok and maintain a good working relationship. Ensure the Program Manager is informed of any developments/initiatives;
Engage with Corporate Donor Staff on a regular basis through Employee Engagement Initiatives, including Family Play Days and Athlete Ambassador Visits.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:
Required (must have):
University Degree, preferably in a related field
Desired (an asset):
Self-starter with confidence;
Computer literacy in Word and Excel;
High degree of professionalism;
Belief in and agreement with the Child Protection Principles outlined in the Right To Play Child Protection Policy and Implementation Guidelines;
Belief in the importance of sport as an effective learning tool.
EXPERIENCE:
Required (must have):
Previous experience with an NGO;
Experience in administration such as financial management and report writing;
Experience in education delivery;
Desired (an asset):
Experience training adults;
Experience in child development;
Experience with the Thai education system;
Experience working with school authorities
LANGUAGES
Fluency in written and spoken English
Fluency in written and spoken Thai
