The role of Direct Marketing Specialist is to oversee the deliverance of AITH’s F2F fundraising program. This role will be managing both the in-house F2F team and the external supplier F2F contract.
This role will be to strategically manage all team leaders and fundraisers to recruit new long-term supporters to AI Thailand to meet ambitious targets.
To plan, develop and deliver on-going training and support for Team Leaders covering fundraising techniques and skills.
To deliver briefings for, manage, motivate and coach all Face-to-Face Fundraisers to acquire new supporters in order to grow income for Amnesty International in Thailand, and promote the AI Thailand brand.
Overview of AI Thailand Fundraising Programme:
Amnesty International Thailand is at the beginning of an exciting project to establish its fundraising program. The program will focus on recruiting regular donations from supporters, primarily through F2F fundraising. The successful candidate will help set-up, with the support of the Fundraising & Growth Manager, the F2F program from scratch, helping establish processes, recruit street recruiters and establish a robust training program.
Responsibilities
- To manage, supervise and coach Team Leaders to enable them to recruit high quality, long-term supporters. This will involve meeting weekly with all Team leaders to motivate, inspire and monitor performance, offering face-to-face and telephone support.
- To ensure secure daily return of correctly completed sign-up forms from all teams, to ensure that they are passed to Fundraising administrator for establishment with the bank.
- To manage and accurately record all expenses (rail & bus travel, postage etc) across the region, ensure all receipts are collected and returned, and ensure all financial expenditure was incurred necessarily in the course of working for Amnesty International.
- Monitor complaints and implement remedial procedures as necessary.
- Analysis of results against targets, offering insight into how to improve and offering strategic direction to all Team Leaders, performance management of all Team Leaders and Street recruiters through regular, recorded 121’s.
- Work with Fundraising and Development to manage FR recruitment in the region, carry out interviews and training and ensure agreed shift targets are met.
- To plan and deliver coaching sessions and provide materials for the fundraisers and TLs covering campaign content, fundraising and sales techniques; working in partnership with the rest of AI Thailand, to ensure that the product knowledge/campaign content of fundraisers remains current and relevant to AITH’s work over time.
- To ensure that all teams are working to regulatory and best practice standards and guidelines; Ensure that own knowledge of all aspects of street fundraising is kept up to date.
- To manage own personal health and safety and oversee the health and safety of all street fundraising staff, including conducting risk assessments as appropriate. Ensuring they have access to, and participate in, appropriate instruction, training and supervision.
- To be responsible for the diary management, location strategy, targeting analysis and site bookings. Managing and adapting these to ensure set strategy is met and developed accordingly.

- To deputise for the Fundraising & Growth Manager where necessary and to undertake other duties which are in line with the general level of responsibility of the role.
- National travel both inside and outside of work hours is required. International travel may occasionally be required.
- Supervise interns and volunteers working in the team.

- Experience in street fundraising or sales would be useful, but not essential.
- Good written and spoken English would be useful, but not essential.
- Be self-motivated
- Be able to work well on multiple tasks under pressure
- Committed to Amnesty International’s mission and principles
Preferred
- Experience and knowledge of human rights and social justice and/or education
