Program Coordinator - Rights for All
MAP Foundation was established in 1996 to advocate for the rights and health of migrant workers from Burma.Now, MAPhas four programs – LabourRights for All, Rights for All, Community Health and Empowerment, and MAP Multimedia. The Rights for All program focuses primarily on women migrants and dependents including children and youth.
MAP Foundation is seeking a committed and energeticindividual to coordinate our Rights for All Program in the Chiang Mai office. The coordinator will oversee a team of around 9 staff members inthe followingprojects:Women’s Empowerment, Education for All, Migrant Youth Empowerment, Health Crisis, and Safe Schools Disaster Preparation. The projects are based both in Chiang Mai and Maesot.The ProgramCoordinator will support staff and monitor activities according to project objectives and indicators, including oversight of budgets and workplans. The coordinator will also be expected to participate in advocacy activities at national and international levels with collaborating networks.
The Program Coordinator’s responsibilities include:
Lead a team of 9 people based in Maesot and Chiang Mai
Write proposals and budgets for new projects together with the organization’s Director
Monitor and collect project information from project team leaders to prepare quarterly reports for funders
Liaise with funders to submit proposals and reports
Prepare monthly workplans and budgets with staff
Lead team monthly meetings to follow up on project progress
Support team activities and ensure quality of work
Support staff skills development
Take part in the management of the organization as a member of the CoordinatingCommittee in monthly meetings
Participate in MAP organization activities such as staff retreats and capacity building workshops
Represent MAP Foundation in national and international networks to advocate for migrant workers’ rights
We are looking for someone who:
Is committed to promoting the rights of migrant workers and their families
Is versed in migrant workers’ rights issues, and has solid understanding of SRHR and women’s empowerment
Has experience in project management
Has good English skills or is fluent in Thai (ability to speak Burmese or Shan desirable)
Has good computer and writing skills
Is willing to work flexible hours when needed and to travel frequently
Has the ability both to work independently and as part of a team
Is dynamic and enthusiastic
