Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced Thai national for the position as Database Administrator.

Database Administrator (1)

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations: Mae Saring, Mae La Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Camp

Main Responsibilities/Duties

1.Improve and ensure efficient management of data by designing new or modifying old databases

2.Provide technical assistance to other personnel involved in database system applications

3.Act as main focal person in-charge of the Malaria Information System (MIS) setup under the Global Fund Malaria project

4.Train staffs to be able to operate and maintain regular data back-up and organize data storage

5.Provide quality control by checking accuracy and correctness of data entry done by respective staff members responsible for database

Endorse and operate database management systems and perform and generate relevant reports as needed and requested from the program components.

7.Create user-friendly manuals with step-by-step guidance for database operator for each separate database created or modified.

8.Supervise data entry staffs in both camps

9.Ensure backup procedure are documented to implement full database recovery

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

1.Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field

2.Proven strong competence and technical expertise for Microsoft Access and SQL or equivalent skills and technical knowledge server with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices

3.Understand and experience with server-client computing and relational database environments

4.Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques

5.Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices

6.Strong in analytical thinking, prioritize tasks, system design/analysis, and problem solving skills

7.Intermediate/Good level of written and spoken English/Thai an asset
