Senior Associate, Power

Asia Regional Office, Bangkok

The Rockefeller Foundation works around the world to promote the well-being of humanity by expanding opportunities for poor and vulnerable people. We are looking for a qualified individual to join the Foundation’s Power team. As Senior Associate, you need to contribute to the development and execution of a multi-year initiative to bring electricity to rural households and businesses in Asia. Your role requires to support a range of strategic priorities, working closely with the Director and colleagues from the Power team and other departments based in New York Headquarter and Nairobi Regional Office.  Reporting to Director, Power based in Bangkok, you will support grant and non-grant activities in India, Myanmar, and China. This will be a demanding role that requires an individual who enjoys generating new ideas and getting things done, and who has the skills and confidence to work autonomously in a different time zone, at times leading negotiations with partners in order to ensure the delivery of high impact work. 

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria:

•              Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in energy, business, environment, or related field

•              A minimum of five years of professional experience in energy (energy access, energy policy, energy project

               management), climate change or a related sector (international development or impact-focused experience

               strongly preferred)

•              Familiarity with renewable energy systems; experience in appraising proposals, analyzing energy

               data/research; experience in financial modeling and energy investment a plus

•              A strong orientation towards being proactive, analytically rigorous and creative

•              Ability to analyze and present complex data and concepts

•              Outstanding communication skills in English, both oral and written

•              Willingness and ability to travel internationally regularly

•              Open to Thai nationals only
