Policy and Research Assistant (ผู้ช่วยนักนโยบายและวิจัย) – Women and Children in the Criminal Justice System
ABOUT THE TIJ
Building on Thailand’s engagement in the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) was established in 2011 with the aim to promote excellence in research and capacity-building in the area of criminal justice. The institute serves as a bridge that transports global ideas to local practices. The primary objective is to promote the implementation of United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders (the Bangkok Rules) as well as other United Nations standards and norms related to women and children in contact with the criminal justice system.
As a member of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme Network Institute (UNPNI), TIJ also gears its work towards important cross-cutting issues on the United Nations agenda such as the rule of law, sustainable development, human rights, peace and security. At the same time, it works toward enhancing domestic justice system and the rule-based community within the ASEAN region.
JOB PURPOSE
The Policy and Research Assistant supports the Women and Children in the Criminal Justice System team in administering and implementing all project activities related to themes of the programme, including access to justice for women and children victims of crimes, juvenile justice, and youth crime prevention.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and maintaining a strong network of stakeholders working in the women and children in criminal justice system;
- Contributing to the successful implementation of capacity building trainings and research projects;
- Supporting the Project Manager in liaising with government stakeholders;
- Conducting secondary analysis of existing data sets and literature reviews as needed;
- Contributing to the development and drafting of TIJ publications (research, reports, policy briefings, infographics);
- Liaising with in-house operational support;
- Drafting reports upon the completion of meetings, trainings, and events;
- Provide translation of documents and other communications/materials as required;
- Assuming additional responsibilities as needed or requested.

Education/ Skills
- Bachelor degree in social science, political science, international relations, or other relevant disciplines;
- At least 2 year of work experience;
- Fluent in both Thai and English
- Strong organizational and management skills;
- Strong written and analytical skills;
- Good Computer skills (MS word, excel, powerpoint)
