Introduction
The Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU) is a field station of the faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, and is part of the Mahidol-Oxford Research Unit (MORU) supported by the Wellcome Trust (UK). The main objective of SMRU is to provide quality health care to the marginalized populations living on both sides of the Thai-Myanmar border in the Mae Sot area, Tak Province. This is achieved by the dual activities of research and humanitarian services, with an emphasis on maternal-child health and infectious diseases.

Location: TB Office/ Myawaddy 

Probation: Subject to 3 months probation before confirmation

Report to:  Referral Officer (Liaison & Coordination)

 

Staff under supervision:  None

 

The SMRU Site Administrator is responsible overall administrative tasks under the job descriptions and instructions of the Unit Director.

 

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Overall manage administrative work and repose to the needs require by Myawaddy TB team
  • Support the team with paper need and organize the meeting, reporting the meeting minute.
  • Provide general help and advice to staff in relation to works and personnel management issues.
  • Liaise with Mae Sot SMRU office regarding paper work and other official requirement issue.
  • Daily Inspecting office tidiness including electricity and water consumptions, building needs.
  • Perform other duties as specified by supervisor

 

Position requirements:

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent spoken and written Burmese , Karen and English
  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Experience or willing to work in cross culture management environment.
  • Strong diplomatic skills and the ability to communicate with sensitivity to a variety of people

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of managing  multi culture staff
  • Experience in logistics.
  • Knowledgeable of local and national politics and local history
