Program Officer (Women’s Rights and Participation)
ActionAid is an international organization, working with over 25 million people in more than 40 countries for a world free from poverty and injustice. ActionAid Thailand (AAT) is part of the ActionAid International Federation and has been working with people and communities in Thailand for a decade addressing issues related to poverty, human rights, education, and women’s and youth’s empowerment.
Salary range: THB 497,496 – THB 658,296 per annum (this will be depending on candidate’s experiences and background)
Contract Period: one-year fixed term contract, with possibility of extension subject to availability of funds
Location: Bangkok, Thailand (travel frequently)
Responsibilities:
- Implement the strategy in field of Women’s Rights and Participation at country level.
- Ensure the effective implementation of the program related work in accordance with the Country Strategic Paper.
- Provide planning guidelines to partners on program activities.
- Review partners’ plans to ensure they are in line with AAT’s strategic direction.
- Support the follow-up of funding proposals with donor agencies and partners.
- Develop detailed programme activities and collaborate tasks to specific partners.
- Conduct regular field level visits to programme areas and units, including area in deep south of Thailand, to provide support, supervision and guidance on programme implementation.
- Ensure all programme activities are sensitive to and responsive to changes in the political, social, and economic environments.
- Establish and maintain good relationship with local government officials, local authorities and other influential stakeholders to support program activities.
- Develop networks of local organizations to provide technical support to programme activities.
- Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure local partners implement activities as planned and assure the quality of activities.
- Contribute to the development, review and consolidation of country programme plans and budgets; and annual national resource allocation.
- Write reports of programme in charged as per AAT standards and deadlines.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Women or Development studies.
- At least 5 years relevant experience in a multi-cultural working environment, preferably an NGO.
- Experience in working on Women’s rights and participation area.
- Understanding of the systems, policies and issues of Human right based approach, Women’s right and participation, Women’s network development, Human Security and Poverty Reduction.
- Expertise on participatory methodologies and M&E.
- Documenting, report writing, and project training proposal skills are preferable.
- Creative and dynamic personality and excellent teamwork capacity.
- Networking skills and the capacity to train and mentor others.
- Work on own initiative with minimum supervision and to stay on task.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Thai.
