Job Title: Women's Protection and Empowerment (WPE) Case Management Officer

The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.
Job Overview/Summary: The IRC’s program for Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) improves and expands community-based services to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) in the seven refugee camps along the Thai-Myanmar border. The program supports and strengthens community-based efforts to respond to and prevent violence against women and girls through comprehensive and holistic programming, including case management. This program coordinates a network against GBV that ensures a comprehensive and multi-sectoral response for survivors, increasing the safety and power of women and girls through promoting community leadership and provision of technical training on GBV core concepts.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Women’s Protection and Empowerment Program Manager, the WPE Case Management Officer will be responsible for the overall provision of GBV case management services. The WPE Case Management Officer will coordinate with other WPE staff and other sectors to ensure survivors needs are met and provide supportive supervision to WPE Case Workers to ensure properly and timely case documentation, services provision and follow up are provided for identified GBV survivors, with the use of GBVIMS incident recorder and be able to assist in making analysis of trends for an informed programing. The WPE Case Management Officer will also help develop and strengthen partners’ capacities on case management, and look for opportunities to create partnerships and engage individuals, community leaders, community-based organizations (CBO), and non-governmental organizations (NGO) in trying to create a safer environment for women and girls.

Other Internal and/or external contacts:
Internal: Collaborate and work with WPE team members in other IRC field offices, including IRC protection staff to ensure effective and coherent WPE programming. Work together with the IRC Program and Sub-grant unit on program and compliance requirements and other related initiatives. Collaborate with the Finance unit, the Operations unit on budgeting, budget versus actual, logistics and procurement.
External: Non-governmental organizations, community leaders, non-governmental organization, community-based organizations, civil society, government/ministries, UN agencies and other IRC sectors to enhance multi-agency and multi-sectoral cooperation and coordination.
Working Environment: The position is a NATIONAL post based in the IRC office in Mae Sot , with travel to the refugee camps and the Thailand-Myanmar border area as required.
