Call for Energy Experts – Thailand
Around the globe, RTI's work is working to develop and implement low emission energy technology alternatives, raise private financing for energy infrastructure, work with governments on legal and regulatory reforms to alleviate bottlenecks in energy generation and consumption, and increasing access to green energy to sustain economic growth and reduce poverty. We serve as a chosen partner for USAID’s Power Africa program in sub-Saharan Africa, and we are looking to support the development of sound energy infrastructure, enabling energy sector reforms, and grow sustainable, secure energy markets throughout the Indo-Pacific. RTI is currently seeking professionals with senior- and mid-level expertise in energy sector located in Thailand with Southeast Asia regional experience.
Candidates should be fluent in English and have minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy sector in Southeast Asia, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in multiple countries. We are currently accepting CVs/resumes for the following technical positions:
Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP): will provide the oversight of the project’s operations reporting functions to ensure compliance with the terms of the agreement providing oversight to the overall project management and human resources functions. She/he should have prior experience managing administration / operations for large-scale USAID programs; demonstrated knowledge, skills, and/or experiences in financial planning and management, and procurement, among other management support areas/functions.
Senior Utility Advisor: will lead loss reduction/utility turnaround work for both electric and gas utilities; assist utilities to increase efficiency of generation; work with governments and utilities to modernize/expand transmission networks and oversee planning improvement efforts, including integrating least-cost/risk-based planning.
Senior Regional Trade and Integration Advisor: will support regional frameworks and guidelines for gas and power trade and development of regional power markets; build on bilateral initiatives, including bilateral electricity market expansion, with an eye on regional integration; promote cross-border gas trade through regional frameworks and guidelines; expand regional market for import of LNG.
Senior Procurement Advisor: will analyze energy procurement systems and make recommendations for improving transparency; work with governments to improve/establish quality standards for generation systems to promote best-value procurement; perform de-risking activities to attract participation of global players; help countries match incentive frameworks to match technology maturity and innovative auction options for new technology.
Senior Planning and Policy Advisor: will support advancing technology (distributed energy, EV, gas systems, and energy efficiency) in specific countries with a focus on high opportunity countries; address policy/regulatory and institutional capacity issues; lead improvement efforts for integration of the technologies listed above into the grid; help governments to modernize and expand gas transmission networks; analyze and improve energy investment climate (modernizing, access, incentivizing customer behavior change).
