Regional Finance Controller

Purpose:  How does this post support Plan’s strategy and mission?

Working in 50 developing countries across Asia, Africa and the Americas, Plan aims to reach as many children as possible, particularly those who are excluded or marginalized with high quality programs that deliver long lasting benefits by increasing its income, working in partnership with others and operating effectively.

 

This role is based in Plan International Asia Hub (Bangkok). It is a regional role, working alongside 13 countries within Asia and with the Global Hub (based in the UK). The role assists the Regional Finance Controller in providing timely and reliable financial analysis that leads to effective decision making in the Asia Regional Office.

 

Dimensions of Role:

  • Assist in communicating deadlines and processes to 13 Country Offices (COs) to ensure accurate and timely information processed at a regional level.
  • Collating information from 13 COs and ensuring that it is in the correct format before submitting the information to Global Hub.
  • Training and supporting COs to ensure that they submit the correct weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Offering support to all COs, these include, but are not limited to;
  1. Accounting and treasury

 

Typical Responsibilities - Key End Results of Position:

Accounting and treasury:

  • Review CO/Regional Offices (RO) 3rd party payment requests before sending to Global Hub
  • Review and analyze CO/RO bank reconciliation reports
  • Prepare financial data for Thailand Ministry of Labor
  • Support the COs in the analysis of corporate financial reports
  • Monitor the updated COs authorized signatory
  • Provide expertise in identifying system strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement

Dealing with Problems:

  • Provide accurate analytical capabilities to enable the Regional Finance to produce timely and accurate financial reporting to the Global Hub

 

Communications and Working Relationships:

  • Regional Finance Director and Finance Controller
  • Country Finance Managers
  • Country Accountants
  • Global Hub Finance Team

 

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Experience (3 years) in financial analysis – preferably in development or not for profit sector
  • Adequate English required to enable communication across the Asia Region

 

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science or equivalent relevant work experience.

Physical Environment and Demands:

This position is office-based and requires very minimal travel.
