Consultant for Photography and Videography Service

 Project title: 7% Project

Background:

AIP Foundation mission is to provide life-saving road safety knowledge and skills to low- and middle income countries. The goal is to prevent the millions of avoidable road crash fatalities and injuries that happen on the world’s roads each year.

Established in 1999, AIP Foundation works in partnership with local governments and communities around the world to address road safety through our five gears:

  • Targeted education
  • Communications for change
  • Global and legislative advocacy
  • Access to helmets
  • Research, monitoring, and evaluation

AIP Foundation is the lead NGO of the Global Helmet Vaccine Initiative (GHVI), an international coalition ‘to put a helmet on every head in the Decade of Action for Road Safety.’ GHVI has expanded our programs beyond Asia and contributes to the Decade goal to halve the projected number of road traffic crash deaths and injury by 2020.

AIP Foundation expanded operations into Thailand in 2006 and later launched the Thailand Helmet Vaccine Initiative (THVI) in partnership with the Thai Ministry of Interior’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) to combat the dire situation on Thailand’s roads.

 

From 2018, 7 % project is implementing by AIP Foundation, funded by the SCI Thailand CO. The project objective was to advocate on road safety and helmet use for children through strengthening capacity of BMA staff, teachers, community members, youth leaders and engaging police to actively enforce the traffic law with positive method.  

 

Purpose:

AIP Foundation seeks a consultant for videography and photography service to collect 4 case studies for 7 % Project. The case studies will show good practices of project implementation. The purpose of this consultancy is to ensure high quality of photos and videos produced within the project.

 

Scope of work:

 

Under the overall guidance of the Country Manager, a consultant will work collaboratively with AIP Foundation team to produce 4 case study videos for the 7% Project.

 

Each video will be 1-2 minutes long and features a teacher, a police and law enforcement officer, and a community leader or a youth leader, working to promote road safety issues in the school or community in Bangkok.

Primary duties include:

  • Work with AIP Foundation team to gather information for the case story videos;
  • Develop dialogue or interview questions for case study interview;
  • Photography and Videography at the 7% Project for collecting case studies during 17th January – 28th February 2019;
  • Collect photos and taking videos for 4 case studies from one child, one teacher, one police, and one community;
  • Produce video clips for all case studies and create English subtitles;
  • Post video on AIP Foundation Facebook page.

Contracting period

17 January – 28 February 2019.

Qualifications and degree of expertise:

  • At least five years of experience in public and media relations and communications work in the context of road safety, child’s rights and child protection or any related issues in Thailand;
  • Excellent skills in online tools, including social media applications;
  • Strong editing skills;
  • Basic design/layout experience essential;
  • Proven knowledge of the challenges related to road safety, Child rights issues in Thailand
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines.

 

Language skills:

Proficiency in Thai and English is required.

 

Consultancy fee

The consultant(s) is asked to propose the budget. The financial competitiveness of the fee will be considered in the selection process. Costs involved in the consultancy, such as materials, travel, translation and applicable taxes, should be included in the proposed budget.
