 Job Advertisement: Regional Campaign/Communications Coordinator

 

Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organization, implementing development programs that promote the realization and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.

 

Position:  Regional Campaign/Communications Coordinator

Assignment duration: 6-month Contract

Duty station: Bangkok Office

 

JOB BACKGROUND: The Regional Campaign/Communications Coordinator will support the regional communications unit in according and supporting regional communications and influencing initiatives and support the implementation of the Asia Region Strategic goals and the delivery of global, regional and country-level communications objectives.

 

Under the supervision of the Regional Strategic Communications Manager/Head of Media, the Regional Campaign/Communications Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring Plan International Asia is visible, engaging, respected and active on priority channels, has a well-known brand that is associated with its organizational priorities, and it working towards a clearly defines set of goals that supports Plan International’s strategic global vision and change journey.

 

S/he will work with the regional communications manager and the influencing and policy team to increase communications impact across the region, come up with good ideas, activities, materials and initiatives in support of the campaign, contribute to the development and delivery of capacity building initiatives, contribute to ensure the unified message within the region and to ensure consistent monitoring and reporting against the regional strategic goals.  

 

In order to accomplish these goals, this position will be working with Plan International‘s Communications staff in offices across the region to coordinate online communication efforts and high-quality content, ensure the implementation of Plan International’s new strategy and internal communications engagement.

 

This role will also engage in media relations and work with Plan International’s National Offices in sourcing communication content from the region, including but not limited to online, video, photo graphic, media and case studies.

 

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Share good campaigning ideas, activities, and materials, and contributing to ensure that there is a unifies message within Plan International on Girl Gets Equal in Asia ; Assist regional influencing and policy colleagues and work with consultants and other campaigners, on the development of appropriate campaign communications materials; Support the preparation of campaigning guidelines in Asia while offering assistance and recommendations  in relation to key campaigning issues to colleagues in the region; Assist with the development of media materials, including press releases, backgrounders, speaking notes, briefly documents, outreach to media in Asia, inquires and other support; Maintain media contact list, identifies opportunities for engagement; Ensure Plan International staff in the region are informed of up-to-date news and information related to campaign initiatives; Draft, designs and disseminates campaign-related news internally; Manage social media accounts for Plan International in Asia, ensuring that appropriate and engaging content is being sourced and shared. This includes responding to, and managing, public enquiries received via social media channels; Monitor the web and social media landscape for opportunities for Plan International to contribute, and for threats to Plan International’s reputation; Support and advise regional management and program colleagues on how best to communicate and share knowledge within their regional network through the development of engaging content , including stories, images, videos and graphics; Raise Plan International’s profile in the Asia region through quality production and dissemination of corporate materials, including brochures, flyers, banners.

 

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in International  Relations, Communications, Journalism and Marketing ; Absolute fluency in written and spoken English is essential; Exceptional interpersonal communications, digital communication and writing skills; Tach-savvy and capable of managing basic website editing and maintaining online presence  ; Knowledge of press and PR Departments ( experience in work in the development sector would be particularly advantageous ; Experience in dealing with the media . event management ,public relations, internal communications ; Comfortable working in multiple different cultural contexts ; Able to make judgements and execute work autonomously; Ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
