The Role
Oxfam Thailand is looking for ENOUGH Campaign Coordinator Consultant.
Background to the ENOUGH Campaign:
Oxfam in Thailand has committed to participating in the Oxfam International (OI) Global EVAWG Campaign, which involves implementing a country-level adaptation of the campaign within Thailand, particularly in the Deep South, which is the conflict area. This campaign takes a bottom-up approach, meaning that it’s driven by country teams. The role of Oxfam International (OI) global team is to support country teams to deliver successful, context specific campaigns. OI will also monitor the campaign at the global level, with the objective of establishing global-level lessons on the impact and reach of the EVAWG Campaign model.
The overall goal of the ENOUGH Campaign is to challenge the social norms that perpetuate VAWG and gender inequality in different ways around the world. The global campaign’s Theory of Change (ToC) has been developed, and countries design their country-specific theory of change (ToC) that contributes to the global campaign.
In Thailand, this campaign will be led by the Oxfam country team, and where possible partner organizations with experience and expertise in VAWG campaigning will be identified to work with Oxfam to support delivery of the campaign.
Purpose:
Oxfam in Thailand, Thailand Association of Social Workers, the Women Network Overcoming Violence and Muslimah Women’s Club in Narathiwas are implementing the EU-funded project, “Women Networks Increasing Accountability of Religious and Governmental Institutions to Reduce Domestic Violence in Deep South” (VAW Project), that has started from January 2018 to December 2020 (3 years). The specific objective of the project is to establish an enabling environment for effective participation of women networks in the formulation and implementation of VAW reduction processes and in calling for policy accountability of governmental and religious institutions to cultural context in the Deep South.
To achieve above, we need a call for action that promote gender equality to reduce violence against women and girl in the Deep South which in one big part of the VAW project after we have gained an in-depth understanding about the stereotypes, beliefs, attitudes, norms and practices that perpetuate domestic violence through the Formative Research. Thus, Oxfam in Thailand team is seeking ENOUGH Campaign Coordinator to co-develop and implement the campaign in the Deep South to contribute to the reduction of VAW where Oxfam in Thailand has been implementing the project.
Our next ENOUGH Campaign Coordinator Consultant will require a range of skills and experience.
