Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context:

Under the supervision of the Project Officer, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of material and service support to Myanmar Muslims and other vulnerable migrants in Immigration Detention Centres, Shelters for Children and Families, and Welfare Protection Centres for Victims of Trafficking in Thailand.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the implementation of the humanitarian assistance to Myanmar Muslims and special at-risk groups in Thailand.

2. Assist the Project Officer in preparing and ensuring timely and quality submissions of all project reports according to IOM and donor formats as required.

3. Develop appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools to ensure effective development and implementation of project activities, with a focus on physical and psychosocial health assistance to Myanmar Muslims and other vulnerable migrants in Thailand.

4. Conduct monitoring visits to project locations and deliver internal monitoring and evaluation reports.

5. Prepare regular updates, programme summaries and other relevant info materials and statistics, according to the specific project needs.

6. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree in Development, Political or Social Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
• University degree in the above fields with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience working in the development and humanitarian fields;
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation is highly desirable;
• Experience in data collection and analysis as well as knowledge management is considered an asset;
• Experience working with Government counterparts, UN agencies and/or non-governmental organizations is considered an asset.

Languages

Fluency in English language.
