Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Migrant Assistance Coordinator, and the direct supervision of the Project Officer in Bangkok, the Project Assistant will be responsible for planning, managing and monitoring the implementation of Migrant Assistant Unit (MAU) project activities in Bangkok and IOM Thailand field locations, including Counter-Trafficking.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:
In coordination with MAU Bangkok team, develop strategies, approaches and methodologies to implement project activities in order meet project objectives;
Ensure project activities are implemented on schedule and within budget, while ensuring the production and timely submission of financial reports in accordance with IOM internal procedures and donor requirements.
Provide regular written and verbal updates to the Project Officer on progress of implementation of project activities, including notification of any challenges encountered;
Prepare periodic reports on project implementation in a timely fashion and in accordance with donor requirements;
Build and maintain relationships with Royal Thai Government (RTG) counterparts, project partners, UN agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations and any other key stakeholders;
Liaise with RTG counterparts, local authorities, NGOs and community-based organizations to ensure smooth implementation of the project;
Monitor RTG policy as it relates to project activities, including policies relating to human trafficking, labour migration and migrants rights, and provide updates on important policy development to project staff;
Represent IOM and provide technical assistance, at local and provincial government, civil society and meetings as required, particularly in relation to counter trafficking and migrant rights.
Provide guidance and regularly monitor the work of field offices, including Mae Sot and Ranong, ensuring activities are conducted in accordance with project work plans and field staff are supported when encountering any challenges in implementation.
Undertake duty travels within Thailand, as necessary to ensure smooth implementation of the project activities and to monitor activities undertaken in the field;
Ensure the production of information, education and communication (IEC) materials in close consultation with project staff, project partners and government/non-government stakeholders;
Collect data as it relates to victims of trafficking (VOT) and enter data into MIMOSA database;
Organize and coordinate events, including, capacity building workshops, trainings, meetings and outreach activities for information campaigns;
Assist workshop trainers/facilitators in conducting workshops in order to improve delivering methods, achieve workshop objectives, and enhance participants’ involvement and commitment to the workshop;
Provide technical supervision in the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools, including assessments, surveys and interviews, in order to document and determine the progress and impact of the project;
Provide VOT screening support and conduct VOT screening interviews as required by IOM’s Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) unit, or upon request from other IOM missions in the Asia-Pacific region;
Act as national staff focal point for human trafficking at IOM Thailand, including monitoring and assisting implementation of any human trafficking related programs and activities;
Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Project Officer.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Thai national;
University degree in law, international relations, political science, social science, or relevant field;
Strong organizational and time management skills;
Ability to work in a multi‐cultural environment and respect diversity;
At least two years of work experience in migration issues for non‐governmental organizations, international governmental organizations or government institutions;
Sound knowledge of programme implementation and evaluation and familiarity with financial and business administration;
Team work oriented but with a capacity to work independently;
Good writing and communication skills;
Computer literate;
Languages
Fluency in English and Thai is required. Knowledge of Burmese or other languages spoken by minority groups from Myanmar is a strong asset.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Thai national;
· University degree in social sciences or related field. A master’s degree is preferred;
· At least two years of experience in with an international or intergovernmental organization working on issues related to migrant populations in Thailand;
· Demonstrated experience in liaising with government officials and in coordinating activities with NGOs and government partners;
· Experience in organizing and coordinating surveys, workshops and trainings;
· Capacity to work independently with minimum supervision;
· Personal commitment, efficiency, and flexibility;
· Experience in working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from various cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels;
· Good writing, communication and negotiation skills;
Languages

Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of project activities, development of new project ideas, as well as reporting, under the thematic areas of Immigration and Border Management (IBM) and Migrant Assistance, specifically Counter Trafficking (CT), in the IOM Thailand Country Office.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Contribute to the successful development of capacity building activities within the areas of IBM and CT by conducting a review of existing training materials and updating and revising training materials in coordination with the Project Manager.
Assist the Project Manager in the implementation of activities under IBM and CT, which can include, but is not limited to, tasks ranging from assistance in organizing workshops and meetings, participation in meetings with project partners, government counterparts and the donor, development of work plans, conducting monitoring and evaluation, etc.
Take the lead role in the organization of capacity building activities under the projects, including but not limited to, developing agendas, identifying venue, facilitating invitations, preparing materials, preparing and completing administrative requirements, and facilitating transportation and logistical arrangements as necessary, in line with the financial, technical and human resources of the project.
Maintain the first line of communication and liaison with all national stakeholders under the projects to ensure productive working relationships with all national project counterparts, most especially relevant agencies of the Royal Thai Police.
Support the Project Manager in preparing and/or delivering project presentations and facilitating training activities where appropriate.
Liaise with national and international immigration and law enforcement authorities in Thailand to form partnerships and ensure complementarity with related initiatives in the areas of IBM and CT.
Coordinate with unit staff to identify further project development opportunities under the thematic areas of IBM and CT.
Contribute to unit reporting and communications through drafting and editing reports for capacity building events and other project activities, interim donor reports, assisting to review evaluations, producing/updating briefing notes, visibility products and project factsheets.
Liaise with the IOM Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific as needed to ensure the necessary technical resources and expertise for successful implementation of the project.
Conduct evaluations of all project activities, including development of evaluation tools and incorporation of the findings into final reporting.
Perform such other duties as may be required.
