The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC regional delegation in Bangkok provides assistance to victims of violence and works with authorities in order to improve the conditions in detention facilities. It also endeavours to promote and to strengthen humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.

We are looking for an

Intern, based in the Regional Delegation in Bangkok, 2 positions

The Internship program is open for university students who are interested in International Humanitarian Law and would like to experience working in an international organization. The internship is available at the ICRC Regional Delegation in Bangkok between June and July 2016. The intern will conduct a legal research on a subject agreed upon by the regional delegation, and will have to present a research paper at the end of the program. Apart from conducting a research, the intern will also be expected to support the operation at the regional delegation.

Your main responsibilities
• To conduct a research in International Humanitarian Law,
• To support the operation at the delegation when required.
• Other tasks which may be assigned by the supervisor.

Your education and experience
The eligible candidate should be a law student: 
• who completed the Public International Law course  in the curriculum and has at least a  basic knowledge of International Humanitarian Law.
• who has some experience in research

Your profile
• Good command of English and Thai.
• Interested in international issues
• Active, easy-going, and eager to learn.
