Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the Regional Development Mission for Asia Counter Wildlife Trafficking Activity (CWT). The anticipated program will counter wildlife trafficking by reducing consumer demand, strengthening law enforcement and cooperation in counter trafficking, strengthening policy, and improving monitoring of status and trends in wildlife crime. CWT's geographic scope is defined as the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) countries with a focus on the Lower Mekong Basin (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia) and China.
The chief of party will oversee the program's scope of work, provide technical leadership, manage country and multi-disciplinary teams, oversee project budget and performance, deliver project results, and monitor overall progress. The chief of party will establish and maintain strong relationships with USAID, ASEAN, and local counterparts to ensure effective coordination of project activities with relevant ministries, agencies, international donor institutions, civil society organizations, various project stakeholders, private sector organizations, and other USAID and U.S. government-funded initiatives. Responsibilities include:
* Lead and oversee project's technical activities
* Build relationships with USAID, local counterparts, civil society organizations and other USAID and donor-funded projects in the sector
* Manage technical teams in countries of operation
* Oversee project M&E, reporting, and deliverables
* Oversee project budget
Qualifications:
* Master’s degree preferred
* Minimum seven years of international development project/activity leadership and management experience, including experience related to counter wildlife trafficking
* Experience leading activities of similar scope and complexity to the activity preferred
* Experience in Asia preferred
* Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
* Must be fluent in English
