Vacancy Announcement- General Services Assistant II
The Peace Corps program in Thailand places American Volunteers in two-year assignments in villages and towns across the country. Peace Corps is seeking qualified applicants for the contracted position of General Services Assistant (GSA). Under the direction of the Director of Management & Operations, the General Services Assistant (GSA) assists the General Services Manager (GSM) with the coordination and provision of Regional Peace Corps/Thailand staff travel, supplies, property management, and other administrative services. The GSA has primary responsibility for travel, including air travel arrangements; acquisition of hotel accommodations; transportation; and international/regional conference outreach. The GSA performs all tasks relating to these functions including the evaluation of facilities and negotiation of rates for those facilities. The GSA is the receiving officer for all material purchased with government funds including, but not limited to, office or medical supplies.
Salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and current salary history, and will not be less than THB 362,706.00 per year.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Travel and Vehicle Coordination:
Oversees the arrangement of all official local land and international travel for staff and Volunteers.
Facilitates conference and meeting logistical arrangements, including competition for same.
Assists with scheduling and monitoring the office vehicles and drivers.
Procurement and Property Management:
Assists GSM with the inventory, procurement, re-supply, maintenance and repair of all property, supplies and equipment, for Peace Corps/Thailand.
Canvasses supply and other office services for competitive offers.
Other duties: Ensures that the Peace Corps office facility presents a professional and functioning atmosphere at all times. Performs a variety of office duties including filing, accounting, drafting correspondence, preparing vouchers, etc.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a collegiate degree, preferably in the areas of management in any discipline, or a technical school is preferred;
Two to four years of progressively responsible experience in a similar position or with a governmental agency;
Strong computer and organizational skills; excellent cross-cultural communication skills;
Must have ability to understand and comply with regulations regarding travel, procurement and contracting;
Must exhibit good judgment, courtesy, tact and the proper protocol when interacting with Volunteers, vendors, visitors and other members of the public;
Flexible, motivated and self-directed; willingness to travel throughout the country;
Fluency in written and spoken English and Thai;
Valid Thai work and residency permit required.
