Civil Society Partnerships Project – Call for Applications
Position: Capacity Building Officer
Posting: Located in Khon Kaen, Thailand, with frequent travel throughout Thailand
Report to: Program Manager- CSO Capacity Building
The Khon Kaen University Center for Civil Society and Nonprofit Management (CSNM) is recruiting for highly qualified and motivated persons to work on the USAID-funded Civil Society Partnerships Project. The Project goal is to develop the capacity and networks among CSOs in the Lower Mekong Sub-region to increase their effectiveness in mobilizing their constituents to improve local governance.
In order to implement the project smoothly, CSNM is looking for skilled, dynamic and self-motivated persons to fill in the position of Capacity Building Officer.
Job Purpose: To support the Capacity Building Program in different program activities including coaching & trainings, fellowship and internship program.
Roles and Responsibility:
Academic Fellowship Program
Act as a coordinator for nonprofit organization management academic course with KKU instructors and relevant stakeholders (recruit, monitor & support students, etc.)
Training, Mentoring & Coaching Program
Co-facilitate and/or assist Training Manager (TM) to conduct trainings on specific training topics from the CSO partner training need assessment. For example: Social Enterprise, Policy Advocacy, etc.
Assists with the organization of training workshops and events
Assists TM to prepare a training report for future reference/record/filing
Work with TM in supporting CSO core partners
Internship Program
Act as a coordinator for internship program
Establish and develop NGO networks for student placements
Organize different meetings (Pre departure training, student reflection meeting, etc.), workshop or events within internship program
Prepare event report, with the consultation of TM, and submit to PM
Provide on-going support to students during their placements
Reporting and internal communication
Communicate regularly about problems, successes and results of the program with TM and PM (can be informal)
Give feedback to TM and PM after attending a training / workshop / event
Capitalization
Provide verbal and written translation from Thai to English and vice versa
Manage documents like student reflection papers, most significant change stories, etc.
Support the TM and PM in production of reports and tools in Thai and English
Qualifications:
At least Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Development or related field
Minimum 3 years experience on Capacity Building
Good command in English :verbal and written
Good communication skill and human relation skill
Experience of working for academic will be an advantage
