Summary |
Suwannimit Foundation is a Thailand registered foundation dedicated to strengthening the operational capacity, programming impact and sustainability of community-based organizations that service underprivileged people on the Thailand-Burma border. We are currently looking for the right person to take on the role of a Social Worker. The main task is to work closely with SNF’s Partners with the aim of strengthening their service, and facilitating good working relationships with other service providers including relevant Thai authorities to increase collaborations.

Job Specific |
Role 1: Support the programmatic impact of relevant Partners working on shelters/safe houses for women and children (40%) Work closely with focal persons of Partners to have a sound understand of their work Facilitate activities with Partners following the concepts of protection mainstreaming Research and recommend activities which can improve the services of Partners Support the implementation of agreed improvements based on the recommendations Support focal persons of Partners in coordinating services to other service providers
Role 2: Support cases coming from Light House project (20%) Participate in regular meetings with Light House (LH) project with the aim of implementing an effective referral system (Such as when a case is received in LH for the legal aspect and the system of referral if there is a need for psycho-social support). Assist LH staff in having basic skills in psycho-social to respond to emergency cases where other services are not readily able to respond
Role 3: Support the promotion of psycho-social health among SNF and Partner staff as part of occupational safety (20%) Research, develop and implement short workshops related to maintaining psycho-social health. Assist in referring special cases to relevant services, if any.
Role 4: Assist in strengthening the network of service providers in the area (10%) Support Protection Coordinator in maintaining good working relationships with other groups including relevant government units.
Role 5: Reporting and Program Development (10%) Submit regular reports as agreed with Protection Coordinator File and manage supporting documents as indicated in the monitoring framework Provide inputs for program development and proposals |

Degree in Social Worker, Phychology, Law and/or other related fields |

Work Experience |
Must have work experience as a trainer gained from a community based organization in the Thailand-Myanmar border At least 2 years experience social work activities in education, health, and protection Experience working/dealing with the government units such as Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand. Experience in collecting and maintaining monitoring and evaluation data and documents Solid experience in translation and interpretation from Burmese to Thai and vice versa. |

Working knowledge in documenting cases Flexibility in working with grassroots organizations Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing Basic computer literacy such as knowledge in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint Time management, including ability to work independently and efficiently, manage multiple tasks, and set priorities in a busy and varied work environment Must have the ability to know when to act and when to refer |
