Chemonics seeks qualified candidates for multiple renewable energy experts for the anticipated USAID-funded Sustainable Mekong Energy Initiative (SMEI). The goal of SMEI is to accelerate Lower Mekong countries’ transition to low-emissions, high-performing economies through direct current and future investment in renewable energy sources and energy efficiency (specifically grid-connected solar power) that will lead to significantly reduced or avoided greenhouse gas emissions. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Applicants with technical expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to submit application materials:
Renewable Energy Enabling Environment Experts –
Experience with one or more of the following tasks: 1) advising and capacity building of government agencies, utilities and other energy stakeholders in integrated resource planning (IRP) to scale up solar technologies, 2) analyzing geospatial solar energy datasets and facilitating renewable energy zone development, 3) supporting solar project development and facilitating funding mechanisms, and 4) advancing solar power regulatory reform.
Public-Private Investment Experts –
Experience with one or more of the following tasks: 1) Mobilizing private and public sector investment for solar and renewable energy 2) providing transaction consulting services and capacity building, and 3) linking project developers with diverse project financing mechanisms for renewable energy projects.
Renewable Energy Coordinating Experts –
Experience with one or more of the following tasks: 1) engaging and coordinating with renewable energy stakeholders, project implementers, donor agencies, and government agencies to maximize impact and avoid duplication, and 2) coordinating potential areas for collaboration and intervention.
Qualifications:
<>·Five years or more of relevant experience in one or more of the technical areas listed above and understanding of key stakeholders in energy project development
<>·Experience with USAID or other international donor projects preferred
Fluency in English and excellent written and oral communication skills
