Job Title: Program & Communications Officer

 

 

SEA Junction, under the operation of the Foundation for Southeast Asia Studies, is a knowledge center and public venue on Southeast Asia, which is located at the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre (BACC). SEA Junction aims to foster understanding and appreciation of the region in all its realities and socio-cultural dimensions –from arts and craft to the economy and development– by enhancing public access to knowledge resources and by promoting exchanges (see further www.seajunction.org)

As our activities expand, there is a need for an additional staff who is able to work in a flexible manner in a small office with a multicultural environment and a variety of needs.

 

 

Working duration: 2 years with possibility of extension

Working Days and Hours: 40 hours / 5 days / week

Opening Days and Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10.00 AM – 8.00 PM

Reporting: The Program & Communication Officer will work under the supervision of the Director and of the Program Manager and in collaboration with other staffs

 

 

The successful applicant will be expected to:

 

  • Contribute to SEA Junction event program and the planning and implementation of events, e.g., identify speakers, plan content of event, prepare venues and equipment, and prepare material for distribution
  • Contribute to SEA Junction’s special initiatives, e.g., edit stories in the storytelling initiative, review proposals in the small grants program, draft project proposals and reports
  • Assist in communication and promotion of programs through relevant networks and media, e.g., promote events on social media channels, prepare monthly newsletter, write, edit and translate communications materials
  • Assist in administration and bookkeeping as needed
  • Interact with visitors, donors and partners as needed
  • Assist in other functions as needed

 

 

The successful candidate should have the following skills & experience:

  • BA in a relevant field (MA considered as an asset)
  • Knowledge of Southeast Asia considered as an asset
  • Demonstrated work experience
  • English proficiency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media platforms (Basic design skill considered as an asset)
  • Willingness to perform a variety of tasks
  • Ability to work autonomously in a multi-cultural environment
  • Thai nationality or resident of Thailand
