- Background and Purposes:
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is an important and required part of all WWF projects. In recent years donors have required increasingly rigorous M&E of all projects. In response WWF has placed more and more emphasis on M&E and has developed rigorous M&E protocols. These protocols and M&E reporting are complicated and time consuming and therefore WWF-Thailand has established the position of M&E Coordinator to make sure that all projects satisfy rigorous M&E requirements and that all relevant project and program data are entered into the WWF Network System.
- Major Role Responsibilities
- Support and educate all project managers to utilize WWF project management tools to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate projects.
- Support the development, manage and maintained WWF-Databased, M&E tools, and analyst information from M&E database including provide support to country management team or project managers in order to improve of quality projects and organization performance
- Work with the Conservation Program Manager and other managers to ensure that proposal and annual project work plans include a robust M&E component
- Work with project managers to complete all required technical reports based on donors’ requirements and monitor progress of activities against workplan and budget.
- Work with the M&E manager and WWF regional team to continually improve the M&E system to make it more efficient, less time consuming, and easier to use. If the system becomes too complicated and time consuming, it will not be used
- Work with all department heads and all project managers to understand and complete all M&E reporting requirements included the C2G project database and dashboard reports and Conservation Project Management (CPM) to ensure all relevant data are entered into the WWF Network system.
- Working Relationships
Internal
- Country Director, Conservation Program Manager, Project Managers: Inform the Country Director and all managers about M&E requirements and systems to ensure compliance with WWF M&E standards
- M&E Manager: Assist M&E manager to develop M&E system and monitor progress of the project performance
- Regional and International M&E Coordinators: Make sure that WWF-Thailand M&E protocol is consistent with WWF regional and global standards
External
Donors: Ensure that M&E for all projects meets donor standards
Partners: Make sure that projects implemented by partners meet WWF and donor M&E standards
- Experience Skills and Competencies
Minimum Education Level
- Master's degree in natural resource management, environment, conservation management, bioregional planning, development studies, or in relevant fields.
Minimum Experiences:
- 3-5 years in M&E of large, complicated projects
- 3 years in project management or implementation of complex conservation projects
- 2 years with WWF Program and Project Management System (PPMS) or similarly rigorous project management system
