Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU), is a well established and highly productive research collaboration between the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, the University of Oxford, and the Wellcome Trust (UK).  The unit has been conducting research here for more than 30 years and is recognized as a world leader in tropical medicine research. Our main research interests are the epidemiology, diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology and treatment of infectious diseases which cause illness and deaths throughout this populous region.

Accountant

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for full accounting functions (GL, A/P, A/R).

- Ensure accurate payment via electronic banking and maintain correct financial records.

- Raise the invoices as needed for project claims and/or project fund requests, and follow up for long outstanding items.

- Knowledge of petty cash system, able to maintain good compliance, and suggest to study sites as needed.

- Monitor the cash advances to employee and to study sites, and follow up for long outstanding items.

- Verify transactions between sub-ledger and general ledger and do the needful journal entry.

- Ensure the timely and accurate month/year ended accounts closing.

- Coordinate with the reporting team in verifying project expenditure, and do needful journal entry.

- Perform other duties as required by the AMO and the CFO. 

Preferred qualifications and experience:

- Thai National

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting

- At least 3 years experiences in finance and accounting

- Experience in project accounting is preferable

- Good interpersonal & communication skills

- Good command of written and spoken English

- Skilled with Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel

- Accounting experience with a global or multi-national organization will be an advantage
