Duty Station : Bangkok, Thailand

Classification : General Service (G-4, THB 61,967.50 per month)

Type of Appointment : One Year Fixed Term Contract Initial 12 months with possibility of extension

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

 

 

  1. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE:

 

Under the overall supervision of the Chief Migration Health Officer (CMHO) and the direct supervision of the Senior Migration Health Nurse, the successful candidate will be responsible for the carrying out the following duties and responsibilities in relation to the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

  1. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Provide clerical and administrative support related to the Health Assessment Programme (HAP) in close coordination with the Operations Unit, Laboratory Services, and the Finance and Administrative Unit of the Resettlement Programmes.

  • Register the migrants in the IOM database, schedule and confirm medical appointments and receive and communicate messages for medical staff and beneficiaries.

  • Prepare master lists of migrants scheduled for health assessment processing and submit them to respective service providers / relevant persons as required.

  • Maintain and update daily statistics related to health assessments and assist in data entry of medical-related information in the IOM database.

  • Support Data management to generate, monitor and analyse reports from HAPSTAT Power BI and other HAP data reporting applications.

  • Assist Data management to support MiMOSA, eMedical, IMS, UKTB, Telerad functionality in coordination with the Migration Health Informatics (MHI) Unit in Manila and mission’s IT.

  • File incoming/outgoing letters, reports, memoranda, emails faxes as well as IOM documents and forms related to IOM medical issues.

  • Check, print and make photocopy of bank deposit slips (or other proof of payment). Regularly submit these photocopies to the Administrative/ Finance Assistant; and

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

 

  1. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

EDUCATION

 

  • University Degree with at least two years of relevant working experience, OR


 

  • Secondary School Diploma with at least four years of relevant working experience

 

  • Certificate in IT/Data entry is an advantage

 

EXPERIENCE

 

  • Experience in computer data entry, elaboration and analysis or in a call centre in a busy institution, preferably a medical one.

  • Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute.

  • High computer literacy in Windows and MS Office is mandatory, knowledge of web page design would be an asset.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, as well as previous secretarial and archival experience, an added advantage; and,

  • Previous working experience with NGOs or international organizations is an added advantage.

  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels.

  • Attention to details, persistence, and ability to organize work in a methodical way.

  • Demonstrated accuracy in handling and reporting data

Fluency in English and Thai (oral and written)

Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighboring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighboring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
