Programme Officer (PO)

in Chiang Mai

 

The IOGT-NTO Movement Sweden is currently looking for a Programme Officer to our regional office in South East Asia, located in Chiang Mai.

As Sweden's leading organisation working to reduce harms caused by alcohol and other drugs, we offer an opportunity to contribute to a world where people can live a free and rich life. The IOGT-NTO Movement see the use of alcohol and other drugs as development barriers, in order to contribute to the democratic development and reduced poverty. 

Our head quarter is located in Stockholm, Sweden, and beside the regional offices in South-East Asia we also have one in East Africa.  Together with our partners we work in East Africa with policy advocacy and community development to reduce the harms from alcohol and other drugs. In South-East Asia we currently support eleven partner organisations in six countries: Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Vietnam.

Responsibilities:

You report directly to the Regional Director at Chiang Mai office. You will be responsible for project management, grants management, monitoring and evaluation and the development of support to our partners working with community development.  Specifically, your responsibilities will be:

 

  • Managing partnerships, including project planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
  • Responsibility for ensuring coordination and compliance with regulatory framework.
  • Support planning, implementation, monitoring, learning and reporting of capacity building strategies and activities.
  • Support and coach partners in the application and grant management processes with quality reviews of applications and reports.
  • Focal point developing best practice on community development and to contribute to the improvement of community development in the region.

 

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in development studies

 

Skills required:

  • Five years of experience on project and grant management at International NGO
  • Documented experience of working with community development and rural livelihoods
  • Experience using LFA, RBM, RBA
  • Good computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Very good at working independently and taking initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills 
  • Excellent in Thai and English, orally and written.
  • Have Thailand citizenship
