Regional Program Manager

The Asia Foundation’s Thailand Office is seeking motivated and qualified Thai applicants for the position of Regional Program Manager (RPM) for Southeast Asia Regional Cooperation Programs. The RPM will focus on overall program management of regional programs.  This person will play a leading role in coordinating with donors, partners, consultants, and the Foundation’s country offices to comply with all project and program requirements; organize regional events and ensure that programs run smoothly.  

The RMP will manage a team of staff and consultants, and lead on program management coordination with the Foundation’s country offices in the region, and in the United States. The RPM will have extensive engagement with the Australian Government officials, the Thai Foreign Ministry, ASEAN Member State governments, the ASEAN Secretariat, and experts in relevant fields. The position will involve regional travel throughout ASEAN.  The RMP will meet occasionally with local partners, government officials from other ASEAN countries, consultants, academic specialists, and program advisors to discuss program development, implementation and other management issues relevant to Foundation projects.  This position will report to the Thailand Country Representative, who also oversees the Foundation’s Southeast Asia Regional Cooperation programs.

The Foundation’s philosophy is to hire the most capable and talented people as first priority. Successful candidates will have work experience and academic qualifications in any but not limited to the following fields:  project management, development, M&E, and budgeting.  Key qualifications include:

  • Experience in multi-country/regional program management
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Experience working in international organizations is strongly preferred, though not essential
  • Strong program management and budgeting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills
  • Able to work under pressure with tight schedule
  • Able to work independently and good team work
  • Thai citizenship or dual Thai-other nationality
  • Advanced university degree (masters or doctorate) preferred but not required

 

Contract initially 2 years with possible extension.
