Under the overall supervision of the Chief Migration Health Physician and the direct supervision of the Chief Nurse in Bangkok and the Deputy Chief Nurse in Mae Sot.


Core Functions / Responsibilities:

Particularly, he/she will carry out the following duties:

  1. Provide clerical finance and administrative support related to the Refugee Health Assessment programme in close coordination with the Operations Unit, Laboratory Services, and the Finance and Administrative Unit of the Resettlement Programmes.
  1. Assist in data entry of medical-related information into the MIMOSA database.
  1. Prepare reports with supporting documents according to the specified medical format.            
  1. Assist the physicians and nurses of the Medical Processing Unit in various clerical tasks (e.g. cash management and accounts).
  1. Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed at least secondary education with minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to work in a camp setting under difficult circumstances; must be able to travel extensively; willing to work in shifts, including on weekends.
  • Good team player with the capacity to work independently; commitment and capability to work under intensive pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds; Respect for diversity and creative thinking.
  • Understanding of complex socio-political environments.
  • Computer/software literate, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, E-mail and Internet).




Fluency in English and Thai. Knowledge of Burmese Karen or Karenni is an advantage.

In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
