Position: General Accountant
Division/Department: Finance and Information Technology
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Base Location: Bangkok
Background and Purposes:
Although WWF Thailand is one of non-governmental organization which is expertise in wildlife conservation, it has to have good governance as well. Especially, finance system will be the key success of WWF Thailand to clarify itself and make finance system reliable in public. The general accountant has responsibility to accounting in the foundation stage and manages change when occurred.
Responsibilities
- Operate day-to-day accounting transactions and other administration in department
- Maintain accurate record of all transactions and data input to Oracle with budget line and filling of hard copies
- Check and review all related vouchers, invoices, receipts, documents to ensure accurateness and compliance with policies and procedures. Check ledgers, statements and accounts to identify errors and take respond as possible and inform line manager for complex issues
- Develop and maintain accounting and related database in order to comply with internal control and policies.
- Assist in developing and reviewing project budgets when required and incorporate cost recovery. Research accounting policies when WWF Thailand becomes to the foundation and develop finance system to aligned with policies in order to operate as the foundation smoothly
- Responsible for accounting operations, statutory accounts and taxation for "Local foundation" in Thailand
- Manage petty cash system. Responsible for month end reconciliation and report any significant issues to Finance manager and Seniors Finance officer.
