External collaborator to design layout, illustrations and graphics for Save the Children programme outputs.
Background
Save the Children is the leading independent organisation for children in need, with programmes in 120 countries. We aim to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives by improving their health, education and economic opportunities. In times of acute crisis, we mobilse rapid assistance to help children recover from the effects of war, conflict and natural disasters.
Scope of Work
Save the Children’s Thailand Country Office is seeking graphic designer(s), or a company who will work with Save the Children, when require, to produce a series of well-designed and in-brand communication products, including reports, briefs and factsheets, among others. Below is a draft of the current expected output for the year, the exact number of outputs may be subjected to change.
The objective of these reports is to capture evidence of programme impact and share our knowledge and learnings with our stakeholders for wider dissemination. The external collaborator will assist Save the Children by designing the report layout, including but not limited to, designing tables, charts, and necessary graphics, and inserting photographs, while applying Save the Children branding.
Up to three revisions of the reports may be required before final approval by Save the Children. The final product is delivered in Microsoft Word (English language) and in .PDF format, and is consistent with the Save the Children Branding and Visibility Guide provided.

The objective of these report briefs/factsheets is to provide a short infographic style 2-pager document, to communicate key messages and key findings of the full report with our target audiences. The external collaborator will assist Save the Children by designing the factsheets’ layout in a way that would best communicate the key message(s) and highlighted content, including but not limited to, designing graphics and infographics, inserting photographs, and applying Save the Children branding.
Up to three revisions of the outputs may be required before final approval by Save the Children. The final product delivered in Adobe Illustrator .AI format (English language) and in .PDF format, and is consistent with the Save the Children Branding and Visibility Guide provided.

Management of Consultancy
The outputs must be designed and executed in close consultation with Save the Children in ensuring that they meet the proper branding guidelines and policies of the organisation. The consultant will work closely with relevant Save the Children Project Coordinator in close coordination with the Education Specialist, as well as the Communications Coordinator to ensure that the quality of the deliverables is at a satisfactory level.
The work plan will be captured in the Trello workroom established by Save the Children specifically for this contract (https://trello.com/b/sNPajjXN/sc-report-infographic-brief). This workroom is preloaded with background resources to support the consultant. Background resources includes (1) content and texts; (2) photographs; (3) Save the Children Branding and Visibility Guide; (4) Logos, fonts, and other assets; and (5) example works, among others.
The consultant will be required to update and manage this workroom regularly during the assignment so that Save the Children can monitor progress. To aid knowledge management, the Trello workroom will be the primary means of communication between external collaborator and supervisor. All communication, document sharing, and progress will be managed through this workroom throughout the contract.

Save the Children asserts all proprietary rights in and to all names and service mark of Save the Children. Any use of Save the Children’s service mark including the Save the Children name and Save the Children logo in any form in connection with any product and service that does not belong to Save the Children, unless otherwise authorised in a written agreement, will constitute an infringement upon the service mark rights of such owner and may be actionable under applicable laws.
Amendment, Modification or Variation
This Terms of Reference may be amended, varied or modified in writing after consultation and agreement by Save the Children’s Advisory Group members.
Duration
The tasks to be undertaken by the consultant will be from 30 April 2018 to 31 Dec 2018.
