This is a national recruited position for Thai national only.
Background of the Project:
RECOFTC-The Center for People and Forests in partnership with WWF, NEPCon, EWMI-ODI, NGO Forum, LBA, MERN, Raks Thai and Pan-Nature are implementing a five year (2017-2021) project by the European Union (EU), to strengthen the capacity of Non-State Actors (NSA) for improved forest governance in the Mekong region. The overarching rationale of the project is that for forests to be sustained, forest governance must be based on principles of inclusivity, requiring effective participation of NSAs. The project recognizes that many sub-national, national, regional and global initiatives offer opportunities for NSAs to become actively involved in government-led forest landscape dialogues and decision-making processes. The project therefore leverages and contributes to these initiatives, particularly the Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade - Voluntary Partnership Agreements (FLEGT-VPA) and Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD+), by helping to ensure they are built on multi-stakeholder processes, and that civil society have the capacity to effectively engage on issues, present their concerns to policy makers, and organize themselves to share information and strengthen negotiating positions.
With support from EuropeAid/150699/DH/ACT/Multi, RECOFTC will work closely with WWF and national partners in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam to support better and more effective participation of State and Non-State Actors (NSA) in FLEGT and REDD+ processes.
