Development News and Information Sources
Organisation: APCOM Foundation
Title : Partnerships Research Consultant
Deadline: 20 April 2018
Background
In order for APCOM to be able to provide effective leadership on advocating for the health and human rights of marginalised communities at regional and country levels, APCOM needs multi-year predictable funding. However, the funding environment for HIV and LGBTI rights is very competitive, with a fast-changing funding landscape in the Asia Pacific region where 'core funding' is in decline for community organisations and networks. APCOM therefore needs to diversify its funding sources and other resources from just programmatic sources to be able to continue to be the critical voice of marginalized communities in the Asia Pacific region.
An area that APCOM is expanding is strategic partnerships with companies from the corporate sector, business operators, foundations and high net worth individuals (HNWIs). The support provided by these companies, organisations and individuals is either direct financial assistance or the donation of products and services.
APCOM is currently recruiting for a Partnerships Officer, a new position which will focus on growing and supporting APCOM’s network of corporate, business, foundation and HNWI relationships in Thailand specifically and across the Asia Pacific region more broadly. The core function of this role is to develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, secure and maintain these partnerships for the sustainability of APCOM.
To assist the new Partnerships Officer to understand the opportunities that are potentially available in Thailand and throughout the Asia Pacific region, APCOM is seeking to compile information about individuals and organisations which can be approached to consider supporting APCOM through a specific or general partnership. Completing this research will be the focus of the Partnerships Research Consultant.
