JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Program Manager reports directly to the Program Manager (PM). The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the program activities in a project area. The main responsibilities will be planning and implementing sport and play as well as training and community mobilization activities, and making sure the planning, implementation and monitoring of the sport/play, training and community mobilization activities are in line with RTP standards, and recommending changes based on lessons learned during the implementation of the projects
RESPONSIBILITIES
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION
- Ensures activities are inclusive and reflect the RTP values.
- Encourages and supports coach-led and community led initiatives
- Identifies community needs and ensures that plans for RTP activities and training are aligned
- Conducts an assessment of the number of teachers, coaches, trainers and beneficiaries that could apply the RTP Modules after having appropriate training
- Supports the Project Officers (POs) to ensure the implementation of Memorandum of Understanding and agreements with local representation of Government, UN Agencies and Partner Organizations
- Supports the POs to ensure partners are in compliance with Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy
- Ensures accurate and transparent reporting that highlights follow up and action
- Ensures accurate collection and timely submission of quantitative monitoring information according to RTP monitoring tools
- Provides updates of lessons learned and best practices to the PM and report on progress and challenges as they arise
- Shares all project related activities and information of stakeholders with the PM.
- Provides a weekly project brief
- TRAINING
- Assists in developing appropriate training curriculum and supporting resources and conducts training workshops to build the capacity of the program team in utilizing RTP material
- Delivers workshops on RTP program modules for partners/ beneficiaries
- Assesses ongoing training needs, leads evaluation and provides support to local coaches.
- ACTIVITY IMPLEMENTATION
- Delivers training to partner organizations on standard of RTP Modules.
- Encourages and supports local coach led initiatives.
- Supports Project Officer (PO) and Field Facilitator (FF) to develop an activity schedule with trained coaches.
- Coordinates with PO/partners to monitor activities of trained coaches and trainers.
- Conducts and organizes special event activities, play day and sport tournaments and delegations.
- Conducts regular field visits concerning program implementation.
- MONITORING AND EVALUATION
- Participates and supports the implementation of the Participation Monitoring System
- Monitors and evaluates the implementation of local resources and training
- Assists Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer in conducting baseline assessments, midline and endline evaluations for ongoing and new projects
- PARTNERSHIP
- Represents RTP in partner and coordination meetings in the project location
- Attends meetings as necessary with partners
- PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (must have)
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development work or any related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- 4 years’ experience in a similar position with proven experience in results based project management including research and strategy, planning and financial management as well as in training and motivating staff.
- Experience in leading organized or recreational activities for children.

LANGUAGES
Fluency in spoken and written English and Thai

- Monitoring and evaluation certification
- Project management certification
- Financial management certification
