Position Title:  Nong Han Wetland , Project Manager

Division/Department: Freshwater Songkhram River Basin ( SRB )  landscape

Reporting to: Freshwater SRB landscape Manager

Subordinate Position Title:       Project officer /         3     members

Base Location:            Nong Han Wetland , Sakon Nakhon Province

The Nong Han Wetland  Conservation project is established due to four objectives e.g. Water quality in the basin and  short-term watershed restoration interventions in order to maintain  and protect the freshwater ecosystem , rehabilitate key wetlands resources e.g. aquatic habitat, fish species conservation, etc. and support alternative livelihoods and  advocate for pro-wetlands policies and awareness raising on sustainable water and wetland biodiversity, including internal and external communication. The project manager aim to plan, implement, monitor and control all activities of the project to achieve according to donor commitment and manage resource include money spending, asset and people management  of the team effectively

Major Role Responsibilities

1          Initiate and plan the project action plan along the Nong Han wetland objectives to balance the interest among WWF standards, donors' expectation and WWF regulations

2          Monitor the progress activity work plan to ensure the project attains its objectives in a cost-effective, efficient and timely manner

3          Provide strong, transparent guidance to the Nong Han project team to achieve successful completion of goals whenever needed

4          Manage the budget with the Conservation and Finance departments to guarantee the financial accountability and transparency of the project budget

5          Participate in project activities e.g. government officers private sector, community  to help the project team understand how to best progress and evolve ongoing plans

6          Present and respond to ongoing circumstances in the covered areas as WWF representatives and accurately relate those circumstances to the SRB Manager, Conservation Manager and the Country Director. Also doing so with external stakeholders as deemed necessary.

7          Prepare and present the proposals of the Nong Han project to raise awareness to present and future donors

8          Report to the line manager in a clear and timely manner

Qualification

• Master's degree in conservation, forestry, natural resource management or in relevant fields.
• 5 years in conservation of freshwater ecosystem and working with Government officials, local communities and/or donors and experience in conducting studies and coordinating research activities
• Fluent in English both writing and speaking
• Preferred Technical skill in Freshwater ecosystem management  , Participatory approach, GIS map production
