Plan International Thailand Job Advertisement: Child protection Specialist

 

Plan International is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organization, implementing development programs that promote the realization and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.

 

Position:  Child Protection Specialist

Assignment duration: Permanent Contract

Duty station: Bangkok

 

JOB BACKGROUND: The Child Protection Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that Plan’s Global Policy on Safeguarding Children and Young People is fully and consistently implemented in Thailand.  

 

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Builds the capacity of staff regarding child protection policies through staff orientations/trainings and ensures all staff understand the code of conduct, have signed the code of conduct and child protection policies are well adhered to.  Sets up reporting mechanisms for child protection and responds to reports as needed. Works closely with implementing partners to build their capacity in child protection, trains partner staff, and assists partners in developing child protection policies and systems. Ensures that all external communications are in line with child protection policies and protect the best interests of children. Undertakes regular child protection reporting and audits Plan Thailand’s compliance in the area of child protection. Assists in annual planning and budgeting for activities.

 

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Excellent understanding of child protection issues, policies and reporting. Previous experience in child protection work. Good Thai and English language skills. High level of communications and ability to build positive working relationships both internally and externally. Good people skills. Proficiently in coaching, mentoring, training and facilitation. Experience and skills working with children. High degree of professionalism and integrity, confident in taking initiative.
