Job Description: Programme Manager
With the purpose of actively promoting socially just and sustainable democratic development in Thailand, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Thailand is currently seeking a Programme Manager to join our dynamic team at the Bangkok office.
Main Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Resident Director, the incumbent will:
- Coordinate FES activities of two fields ‘Society in Transformation’ (i.a. School of Investigative Journalism and Summer School) and ‘Economy of Tomorrow’ (i.a. Digital Transformation), which includes project conceptualization, planning and organization of activities/events, budget management, and evaluation and reporting; the fields of work may be adapted
- Manage FES online and offline communication platforms (website, social media, promotion materials)
- Oversee and facilitate working groups and seminars
- Build and maintain good collaborative relationships with cross-sector partners
- Develop project and partnership proposals
- Attend and actively participate in internal team and regional meetings
- Oversee the production of publications related to core activities
- Design terms of reference for consultants and supervise their writing, research papers and publications
- Monitor and analyze Thailand’s political, social and economic situation relevant to our programs and write reports when needed
- Represent FES Thailand at external functions
Person Specification
- Master’s Degree in Political Science, Political Economy or related field
- A minimum of two years’ work experience in a relevant field
- Fluent in both Thai and English; knowledge of German or ASEAN languages is an asset
- Sound understanding of Thailand’s political, social and economic situation and developments
- Excellent analytical skills in questions of governance and political economy
- Flexible and adaptable to partners and topics
- Willing to work independently without daily supervision
- Highly organized and possessing acute attention to detail
- Willing to help with other programs and projects if needed
- Good Microsoft Office skills, experience and familiarity with managing social media pages (Facebook) and blogs; familiarity with O365 is an additional asset
Remuneration will be competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
