POSITION PURPOSE
The role of the Program Manager is to inform and implement a bold strategy to improve access to quality education for children in Thailand. You will lead the implementation of education projects including school building and teacher development, ensuring community participation, quality and efficiency across all aspects of the projects. The successful applicant will be committed to the Cotton-On Foundation goal of establishing 20,000 educational places by 2020.
The Role
- Responsible for the Cotton On Foundation’s (COF) project model & implementation in Thailand - having the greatest impact for children who don’t have access to a quality education.
- Manage the school builds and educational improvement plans for COF supported schools
- Ensure the activities of all Pillars are integrated and all support teams are collaborating when necessary to achieve the greatest impact
- Using your theoretical knowledge of development, your understanding of local communities, and your creative thinking, contribute to the planning and design of future COF projects across Asia and globally
- Ensure financial compliance. Supervise and contribute to the development and management of operational budgets
- Act as a coach and mentor for teachers in the schools we support to ensure they are delivering the agreed curriculum in the most effective way.
- Represent COF at all levels. Community consultation and mobilisation is of the upmost importance in this role and building strong mutually beneficial partnerships with
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND
- Qualifications in Education, Development or Social Sciences with experience in Project Management
- Minimum 2 years experience at project or program management in Thailand
- Experience in brokering partnerships with community, educational institutions, other not-for-profits and government
- Experience in developing and managing costing and budgets
- Proven track record in operations, project implementation and partnership management
OTHER SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ATTRIBUTES AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
- Excellent communication skills in English, being able to communicate in other South Asian Language such as Thai/Burmese/Karen is an added advantage but not a prerequisite
- An ability to connect with community members and project beneficiaries in a respectful manner.
- A belief that through education and sustainable programs, communities in Maesot can be transformed.
- A can-do attitude.
- Ability to travel around for work
