Vacancy for Communications Intern
Chiang Mai, Thailand
Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting women with a commitment to feminist movement building and capacity to work in a demanding and energetic Secretariat (based in Chiang Mai, Thailand) for at least six month voluntary position starting July 2017.
The intern will work closely with APWLD communications team to provide support for overall communications work as well as the 3rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum 2017 which constitutes a 3 day event (7-9 September 2017) bringing together 300 feminists from the Asia Pacific region along with global allies. Priority will be given to women from the Asia Pacific region but applicants from outside the region will also be considered.
Criteria
Duration: The role is for at least six (6)months preferably starting in July 2017.
Conditions of the Internship: APWLD does not have paid internship or provides stipends for interns. APWLD offers a thriving working environment and endeavors to provide the experience that is relevant to the needs and interest of the interns.
Endorsement: Where possible applications should be endorsed by either an educational institution or an APWLD member reference through a support letter confirming interest.
Travel and Visa: Interns/Volunteers are responsible for all travel expenses to Chiang Mai, Thailand and back to their home country. Applicants must obtain necessary visa in compliance with Thai immigration. APWLD will be able to provide a support letter to successful applicants for visa application purpose.
Medical Insurance: Interns are required to have health insurance coverage valid in Thailand during their stay at APWLD. APWLD accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and /or illness incurred while interning with APWLD.
Language: Excellent written and oral English, knowledge of other Asia Pacific language(s) will be an asset.
