Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting women with a commitment to feminist movement building and capacity to work in a demanding and energetic Secretariat to apply for a Programme & Logistics internship.
The successful candidate will work with APWLD staff across our Climate Justice Programme and the coordination of the 3rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum (being held 7-9th September 2017 in Chiang Mai, Thailand).
The Internship Programme is for women activists/students who have a background in and/or interest to work with and be involved in women’s human rights issues on a regional level. APWLD makes every effort to provide learning opportunities to women from the Asia Pacific region and their application will be prioritised. Women from outside the region may also be considered.
Requirements:
Duration: The role is for at least six months starting July 2017. Those who are available for less than six months are still encouraged to apply although preference will be given to those can commit for six months.
Conditions of the internship: This is not a paid internship position. APWLD is committed to offering an inspiring working environment and strives to provide interns and volunteers with experience that is relevant to their needs and interests.
Travel and Visa: Interns are responsible for all travel expenses to Chiang Mai, Thailand and back to their home country. Successful applicants must obtain necessary visa in compliance with Thai immigration law. APWLD will be able to provide a support letter to successful applicants for visa application purposes.
Medical Insurance: Interns are required to have health insurance coverage valid in Thailand during their stay at APWLD. APWLD accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and /or illness incurred during the intern/volunteer assignment.
Endorsement: Where possible applications should be endorsed by either an educational institution or an APWLD member reference through a support letter confirming interest.
