Call for Volunteers for the 3^rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum

July-September 2017, Chiang Mai, Thailand  

Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting women with a commitment to feminist movement building and capacity to work in a demanding and energetic Secretariat (based in Chiang Mai, Thailand) for a 3 month voluntary position starting July 2017.

Volunteers will work with APWLD staff and members to deliver the 3^rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum 2017 which constitutes a 3 day event bringing together 300 feminists from the Asia Pacific region along with global allies. APWLD is a regional network of women’s organisations and activists in Asia Pacific, committed to building feminist movements and advancing women’s rights.

Priority will be given to women from the Asia Pacific region but applicants from outside the region may also be considered.

Criteria

• The volunteering position is for those who have a background in and/or interest in working with women’s human rights issues on a regional level.
• Interested candidates need to be able to work within a team, work well under pressure and be able to handle multiple tasks.
• Desired qualities include written and oral communication skills in English, while knowledge of other languages from the Asia Pacific region is an advantage.
• Volunteers will preferably attend the full three day Forum 7-9^th September 2017. Commitment around the Forum may be flexible depending on the individual.

How you will be involved:

• Support preparatory process of the 3rd APFF, including event logistics and administrative support (i.e. registration and application processing)
• Support to the workshop facilitators and speakers as needed
• Note taking in workshops and/or other sessions
• Translation where appropriate
• Work with the communications team to create content and share through social media platforms
• Support participants at the Forum and provide link between those attending, venue and APWLD staff
• Other tasks as directed  by APWLD staff

Duration: 3 months July- September 2017

Conditions of Volunteering: APWLD does not have paid volunteership or provides stipends for volunteers. APWLD offers a thriving working environment and endeavors to provide the experience that is relevant to the needs and interest of the interns.

Travel and Visa: Interns are responsible for all travel expenses to Chiang Mai, Thailand and back to their home country. Successful applicants must obtain necessary visa in compliance with Thai immigration law. APWLD will be able to provide a support letter to successful applicants for visa application purpose.

Medical Insurance: Interns are required to have health insurance coverage valid in Thailand during their stay at APWLD. APWLD accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and /or illness incurred during the intern/volunteer assignment.

Language: Skills in Asia Pacific languages other than English is an asset

ประกาศรับอาสาสมัครสำหรับงานประชุมเฟมินิสต์แห่งเอเชียแปซิฟิก ครั้งที่ 3
โดยทำงานในระหว่างเดือนกรกฎาคม-กันยายน ที่เชียงใหม่

สมาคมผู้หญิง กฎหมาย และการพัฒนาแห่งการพัฒนาแห่งเอเชียแปซิฟิก (Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development - APWLD) ประกาศรับอาสาสมัครผู้หญิงทุกช่วงวัยที่สนใจในประเด็นสิทธิสตรีเพื่อทำงานกับกองเลขาธิการของสมาคมฯ ที่เชียงใหม่เป็นเวลาสามเดือน โดยเริ่มทำงานในเดือนกรกฎาคม 2560 เป็นระยะเวลาสามเดือน

APWLD เป็นเครือข่ายระดับภูมิภาคที่มีสมาชิกกว่า 200 องค์กรในเอเชียแปซิฟิก ซึ่งทำงานผลักดันเรื่องสิทธิสตรีและขบวนการเฟมินิสม์ โดยมีกองเลขาธิการตั้งอยู่ที่เชียงใหม่

อาสาสมัครจะทำงานร่วมกับเจ้าหน้าที่ APWLD และองค์กรสมาชิก เพื่อจัดงานประชุมเฟมินิสต์แห่งเอเชียแปซิฟิกครั้งที่ 3 เป็นงานประชุมระยะเวลา 3 วัน คาดว่าจะมีนักเคลื่อนไหวในขบวนการเฟมินิสม์ในภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิกรวมถึงพันธมิตรในระดับสากลเข้าร่วมประมาณ 300 คน

ผู้สมัครที่มาจากภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิกจะได้รับพิจารณาเป็นอันดับแรก อย่างไรก็ตาม ผู้สมัครจากนอกภูมิภาคอาจได้รับการพิจารณาเช่นเดียวกัน

คุณสมบัติ

อาสาสมัครควรมีความสนใจหรือมีพื้นฐานเกี่ยวกับประเด็นสิทธิสตรีในระดับภูมิภาค สามารถทำงานเป็นทีม และทำงานภายใต้ความกดดันและจัดการงานหลายๆ อย่างได้ในเวลาเดียวกัน ผู้สมัครควรมีทักษะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษในระดับที่ดี หากได้ภาษาอื่นในภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิกจะพิจารณาเป็นพิเศษ

อาสาสมัครควรต้องเข้าร่วมงานได้ครบทั้งสามวัน ตั้งแต่วันที่ 7-9 กันยายน 2560 แต่ในช่วงระยะเวลาเตรียมงานสามารถยืดหยุ่นได้ตามความสะดวกของอาสาสมัคร

อาสาสมัครจะได้ช่วยงานตามความสนใจต่างๆ ดังนี้

• ช่วยเตรียมการจัดงานในด้านต่างๆ รวมถึงการประสานงาน และการจัดการธุรการต่างๆ (อาทิ การลงทะเบียน การประมวลใบสมัคร ฯ)
• สนับสนุนวิทยากรและผู้ดำเนินกระบวนการในเวิรคชอปต่างๆ ตามจำเป็น
• จดบันทึกในเวิรคชอปและวงเสวนาต่างๆ
• ช่วยแปลเอกสารหรือภาษาให้ผู้ร่วมงาน
• ทำงานกับทีมประชาสัมพันธ์เพื่อผลิตงานเขียน ภาพถ่าย และวีดีโอ รวมถึงเผยแพร่ข้อมูลต่างๆ ผ่านทางโซเชียลมีเดีย
• ให้ความช่วยเหลือต่างๆ แก่ผู้เข้าร่วมงานตามความจำเป็น และประสานงานระหว่างสถานที่จัดงานและเจ้าหน้าที่ APWLD
• งานอื่นๆ ตามความเหมาะสม

ทาง APWLD จะไม่รับผิดชอบเรื่องค่าใช้จ่ายหากอาสาสมัครเกิดอุบัติเหตุหรือเจ็บป่วยในระยะเวลาที่ทำงาน และเราไม่มีงบประมาณสนับสนุนค่าเดินทาง แต่จะมีอาหารทุกมื้อจัดเตรียมให้ตลอดงาน

1. เหตุผลที่สนใจสมัคร
2. ความสนใจ (อาทิ การใช้สื่อดิจิตอล โซเชียลมีเดีย งานธุรการ งานจัดการ การจัดเวิรคชอป)
3. ทักษะที่ถนัด ช่วงเวลาที่สามารถอาสา (ระยะเวลาเตรียมงานและในช่วงงานประชุม)
4. ภาษาที่ถนัด

และจดหมายอ้างอิงสองฉบับ ประกอบด้วยจดหมายอ้างอิงจากหัวหน้าองค์กรหรือจากสถาบันการศึกษา
