SOCIAL WORK OFFICER
CDE Thailand
The Education Program of La Chaine de l’Espoir (CDE) in Thailand initially targeted children from the slums of Bangkok. CDE has progressively refocused its activity in Buriram Province in order to prevent migration from rural to urban areas by providing support in access to education. Buriram province is one of the poorest region of Thailand and many indebted families are not able to provide for their basic needs having a negative impact on the education of their children. This program relies on a solid network of teachers to foster the education of disadvantaged children and is implemented in partnership with House of Hope Thai Foundation to protect the most vulnerable children and give them opportunities for a better future.
Main objectives of the program:
Under the Education Program conducted by la Chaine de l’Espoir in Thailand, the social work officer is in charge of developing and ensuring the provision of social support and case management services with vulnerable families and to develop social support mechanisms at school and community level.
He / she is also responsible for the reinforcement of capacities of teachers, CDE team and other relevant stakeholders in identifying children at-risk and providing social support or ensuring referral to appropriate services/organizations.
The social work officer works closely with local implementing partners and participate actively in child protection-related activities and meetings to ensure that the program goals are achieved and are in line with policies and laws in force.
Additional training / experience in psychosocial support is a plus
Language skills: Fluent Thai (spoken and written) and English proficient in speaking, understanding and reading. English writing is an asset.
Salary: To be defined based on experience, qualifications and CDE salary scale
Duration: one year contract (renewable) with a three-month trial period
Location: Nang Rong district, Buriram Province with frequent field visits
