Research Writer

Rapid Asia is an independent social research consultancy based in Bangkok. We carry out program evaluations across a number of thematic areas including human trafficking, wildlife conservation, migration, health, climate change, education etc. Our clients include donors, UN agencies and international aid and development organizations. We take a regional approach to evaluations and have developed tools and indicators that can be used across borders for the purpose of evaluating program impact. Rapid Asia has carried out evaluations in 25 countries across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and South America.

Due to our continued growth and expanding workload, we are looking for an experienced Research Writer with a proven track record of published articles in peer reviewed journals. This will be a freelance position to help our team to publish articles, advice on suitable journals and provide guidance during the publishing process. The work will be on a contract basis but regular work can be expected. Type of research will be in the area of behavior change, migration, human trafficking and wildlife protection. Articles will be published in joint names.

Job Responsibilities:

• Help to write journal articles
• Conduct research on relevant topics
• Provide advice on suitable journals and the publishing process
• Prepare article submissions and respond to reviewers
• Ability to work independently and with some level flexibility

Requirements:

• Proven research record with articles published in peer reviewed journals
• Good understanding of behavior change theory
• Strong work ethics and attention to detail
• Native English speaker is an advantage but not essential
• Thematic expertise in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: migration, wildlife conservation, human trafficking.
• Based in Bangkok is considered an advantage but not essential.
