Job Advertisement: Communications and PR Officer
Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organization, implementing development programs that promote the realization and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.
Position: Communications and PR Officer
Assignment duration: Permanent Contract
Duty station: Bangkok
JOB BACKGROUND: The Communications and PR Officer will be responsible for executing the communications strategy to help to raise children’s voices on issues that affect them; to promote Plan International is as the “ recognized voice” for children’s rights and equality for girls; to inform key stakeholders and the public about our work.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Raise Plan’s brand awareness and ensure the branding guideline are consistently adhered to across all departments and the organization has high visibility in projects (particularly with partners) ; Advises on, and managers, issues and risks related to Plan’s International’s communication and media work in Thailand; Support staff on communications
Issues and ensure that the Communications procedures are respected. Prepare and supervise the production of printed publications, branded material, videos, photographs, web materials etc; Identify, write and pitch compelling stories about Plan Thailand work and success; Organize events, including press conference, exhibitions, workshops and press visits. Manage the organization’s website and social media to give information and engage our public.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in Communications or related field ; minimum three years’ experience in operating the communications; Thai and English skills; Excellent command of written and spoken; has background in media relations or work experience as a journalist ; has skills related to print production, PR, audio/video production, website development; Ability to work in cross-cultural dynamic and high pressure environment; Awareness / sensitivity to local social, political , economic trends/ developments ; Experience in working with NGOs will be advantage.
