Cooperation Assistant

Full-time (100%)

The ICRC has been at the forefront of organized international humanitarian actions for 150 years. It is evident that cooperation and coordination with its other Movement partners (190 National Societies (NS) around the globe and International Red Cross Red Crescent Societies) helps increase its capacity collectively and enhance its proximity to people in need. ICRC's operational cooperation with its Movement partners is therefore critical. Core functions of Cooperation are: 1) Partnership with NS, 2) Capacity building, and 3) Movement Coordination.

 

Under the supervision of Head of Cooperation Unit, the Cooperation Assistant supports the implementation and monitor the objectives of the cooperation activities of the Bangkok Regional Delegation and reports directly to him.

 

Job purpose

 

- Maintains contacts and good working relationships with the National Societies of the region (Cambodian, Lao, Thai and Vietnam Red Cross)

- Promotes good understanding towards Cooperation and Movement issues amongst its Movement partners

- Participates and assists in annual budget and activity plan

- Performs as focal point for financial assistance provided to the respective National Societies

- In charge of all departmental administrative tasks

 

Your education and experience:

  • University degree
  • 4 years of work experience in humanitarian organization or similar field
  • Red Cross Red Crescent experience considered as a plus
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent computer skills

 

Required competencies:

  • Excellent networking/ human relations skills
  • Matured with good understanding of humanitarian environments/ issues
  • Good presentational and facilitating skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and able to work with social media platform/ tools
  • Assertive with cultural sensitivity
  • Able to travel within region
  • Hands on office support/ administrative tasks e.g. invoices, summary of expenses, reimbursements, etc.
