Job title: Logistic Assistant  

Location: Maesod /TB clinics/Myawaddy

Probation: SMRU can terminate employment at 3 months if performance inadequate.

Introduction
SMRU is a field station of the faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, and is part of the Mahidol-Oxford REsearc Unit (MORU) supported by the Wellcome Trust (UK).

The main objective of SMRU is to provide quality health care to the marginalized populations living on both sides of the Thai-Myanmar border in the Mae Sot area, Tak Province. This is achieved by the dual activities of research and humanitarian services, with an emphasis on maternal-child health and infectious diseases.

Since 2009, SMRU is engaged also in Tuberculosis program with activities on active and passive case findings, diagnosis and treatment of TB patients with updated protocol and best quality of care in full cooperation with national programs and other stakeholders

Since 2016, SMRU TB program is developing collaboration with Myanmar NTP and NAP, and with district Myawaddy hospital and other stakeholders located in Myawaddy as IOM, and others.

Logistic assistant will be based at TB clinic site

Report to: Logistic Manager / Assistant Administrator (TB clinics)

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Follow up site maintenance, water and electricity needs for running activities smoothly at clinic site
• Follow up on power supply and maintenance of generator, and other power system (solar system)
• Follow up of need of rehabilitation and maintenance of building on TB clinic site
• contribute to transportation organization for, staff and patients to and from SMRU sites, TB clinic, referral facilities, and elsewhere as required for work, eventually SMRU visitors
• Prepare request for purchase all non medical supplies needed to run activities at TB clinic
• Follow up request and delivering of supplies between office and site, collect supplies from local suppliers,
• Provide support for all staff on clinic on logistic issues

Essential Criteria

• Experience and basic knowledge in logistic management
• Fluency in Burmese and Karen
• BAsic English language, (Email and communication) Communicate with program manager
• Good knowledge in water and power supplies
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
• Computer skill (Microsoft word and excel, email and internet skill)
• At least 3 years working with NGOs experiences
• Able to record inventory list and project assets

• Line management experience
