Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for efficient, motivated and experienced individuals for the position as CCSDPT Health Information System Coordinator

 

CCSDPT Health Information System Coordinator

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Duration: 1 year with possible extension of contract

Work locations: Based in Malteser International office in Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son with frequent traveling to all 9 refugee temporary shelters along Thai-Myanmar border

 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Coordinate with health agency HIS focal persons to ensure data collection and reporting data and analysis.
  2. Regularly visit all nine border camps and implementing health agencies to review implementation and provide technical support to HIS focal points.
  3. Training of HIS focal persons and camp based staffs who are involved in day to day data collection in accordance with the identified needs (external training).
  4. Provide outbreak reports and maternal death reports to UNHCR and other relevant Thai Authorities.
  5. Produce annual report that documents and analyse health-related trends in camps and on the border.
  6. Assist with the improvement of the outbreak alert system in all camps in cooperation with Ministry of Public Health

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. Registered Medical Doctor/Nurse with MPH degree or equivalent relevant trainings including epidemiology and related topics.
  2. Experience with health information systems, data collection, monitoring, analysis and evaluation.
  3. Availability to travel extensively to refugee shelters on Thai-Myanmar border.
  4. Good interpersonal and communication skills as an individual and a good team player
  5. Fluent in speaking, reading and writing English.

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (1 position)

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Work locations: Mae Sariang, Sob Moei District (Mae La Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Temporary shelters)

 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Formulate a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation System based on program activities and reporting obligations.
  2. Assist in setting-up a database that covers project indicators, Malteser International bi-annual indicators and any other progress indicators in order to facilitate progress reporting against various sets of indicators applied to the program activities.
  3. In close collaboration with responsible data collecting staff, develop tools that measure data correctly.
  4. Ensure monitoring tools are user-friendly and tailored respondent/users like various community-based health volunteers and project staffs.
  5. Regularly monitor data entry and identify entry errors and missing data, to be brought to supervisors for correction.
  6. Identify training needs among program staff in terms of use of data collection tools, data entry, and database management and implement training sessions for relevant staffs on a needs basis.

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. University graduate preferably in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Public Health, Development Studies, Statistics or degree with additional relevant trainings.
  2. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with monitoring and evaluation of activities.
  3. 3-5 years of work within project context in (I)NGO setting.
  4. Specific training and expertise on database applications (or advanced use of MS Access or Excel).
  5. Able to write concise and accurate activity reports.
  6. Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  7. IT hardware and software knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

Return Support Officer (1 position)

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Work locations: Mae Sariang, Sob Moei District (Mae La Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Temporary shelters)

 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Set-up and account for quarterly work plans and reviews, implementation of all activities planned in the project and evaluation of relevant activities in the field.
  2. Prepare and carry out briefing and training of camp-based staff and carry out additional trainings as well as refreshment training in accordance with project work plans and budget.
  3. Prepare data collection tools to collect return-related information and data from activities to measure progress, monitoring and adapt tools.
  4. Carry out mapping exercise and related update through a follow-up mission inside Myanmar and at various border crossings where health facilities and health actors operate.
  5. Set-up documentation of all cases ensuring confidentiality for all individuals.
  6. Supervise and appraise performance of any staff under supervision by the position, provide timely probation reviews and annual performance reviews with active feedback to supervised staffs to ensure job understanding and good performance.

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. University graduate preferably in health-related fields, completed MPH an advantage. Alternatively degree in relevant Social Science field with complementing relevant trainings and experience.
  2. Previous work experience in Myanmar Health Care System or with Karen Ethnic Health Care Provider
  3. 3-5 years of work within project context in (I)NGO setting.
  4. Basic understanding of WASH issues.
  5. Able to write concise and accurate activity reports.
  6. Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English, (Sgaw) Karen and/or Burmese.
  7. Ability to work independently in carrying out survey/mapping.

Water Quality Supervisor (1 position)

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Work locations: Mae Sariang, Sob Moei District (Mae La Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Temporary shelters)

 

Main Responsibilities/Duties

 

  1. Design and implementation of a comprehensive monitoring system of both bacteriological and physical quality of the water distributed to camps.
  2. Set-up a small water quality testing laboratory in Mae Sariang Office with the capacity of testing important water quality parameters.
  3. Collection and transport of water sample to Government approved laboratory in Chiang Mai.
  4. Collection, analyse of relevant data related water quality and maintain database up to date.
  5. Plan and conduct required training related to water quality for camp based Water and Sanitation Workers.

 

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  1. Professional qualification and/or proven experience in the fields of water testing and quality monitoring.
  2. Experience in working with refugee communities in complex environments.
  3. Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English, Thai, and Karen.
  4. Excellent analytical skills.
  5. Strong ability to work within a team as well as independently.
