Women’s Rights Program Officer

The Organization

ActionAid is an international organisation, working with over 25 million people in more than 40 countries for a world free from poverty and injustice. ActionAid Thailand (AAT) is part of the ActionAid International Federation and has been working with people and communities in Thailand for a decade addressing issues related to poverty,  human rights, education, and women’s and youth’s empowerment.

 

ActionAid Thailand is looking for highly skills and motivated Thai nationality with good English communication skills to fill the following position of Women’s Rights Program Officer 

 

Contract: One-year fixed term contract, with possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds

Salary range: 485,268-530,664 THB per annum

Benefit: Performance bonus, Social security, Life insurance, Health and Accident insurance, provident fund and annual leave 21 days

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

 

Role overview:

The position provides necessary support to programme development, implementation and monitoring to ensure efficient and effective delivery of programme objectives. The Women’s Rights program Officer will implement the strategy and project on Women’s Rights & Participation in accordance with the Country Strategic Paper, and work with partners to ensure that their project plans are in line with AAT’s strategic direction. This role needs to travel to program area field including Deep South of Thailand.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Implement the strategy in field of Women’s Rights & Participation at country level
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the programme related work in accordance with the Country Strategic Paper
  • Provide planning guidelines to partners on programme activities
  • Represent and promote the Project nationally

Fundraising & Communications

  • Provide inputs and engage in fundraising & communications activities
  • Support the follow-up of funding proposals with donor agencies and partners

Programme Implementation

  • Coordinate with Programme and Policy Manager and different stakeholders to achieve the objectives of programme in charge
  • Develop detailed programme activities and collaborate tasks to specific partners
  • Conduct regular field level visits to programme areas and units to provide support, supervision and guidance on programme implementation
  • Ensure all programme activities are sensitive to and responsive to changes in the political, social, and economic environments

Policy Research and Policy Advocacy

  • Establish and maintain good relationship with local government officials, local authorities and other influential stakeholders to support program, activities
  • Develop networks of local organizations to provide technical support to programme activities
  • Organize workshops and trainings to community groups, local authorities and other stakeholders to enhance their understanding and supports on programme issues
  • Engage in the development of appropriate research with a view to improving the quality of field work and influencing change in policy to improve the quality of life for the people living in poverty

Programme Reviews, Monitoring, Evaluation, Programme Learning and Reporting

  • Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure local partners implement activities as planned and assure the quality of activities
  • Synthesize and share lessons learnt across the programme functions
  • Coordinate programme review activities
  • Write reports of programme in charged as per AAT standards and deadlines
  • Collect, translate, compile and disseminate programme related documents to concerned bodies

 

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in social sciences, economics, women or development studies
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a multi-cultural working environment, preferably an NGO
  • Experience in working on Women’s Rights & Participation area, M&E, networking and capacity building
  • Experience in campaigning
  • Documenting, report writing and project training proposal skills are preferable
