Plan International Thailand Job Advertisement – Child Protection Manager

 

Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organization, implementing development programs that promote the realization and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.

Position: Child Protection Manager

Assignment duration: One year contract with likely extension

Duty station: Bangkok

 

JOB BACKGROUND: The Child Protection Program Manager will lead and manage the Child Protection Program of Plan Thailand. S/he will play a large role in developing a new Child Protection strategy and ensuring that this strategy is well planned, evidence based, monitored and evaluated.  Other aspects of the role include partnership management, planning, M&E, representation and liaison. S/He will also develop capabilities of Plan staff and partners to support the achievement of Child Protection goals. The program will focus on child rights, child protection and child participation.

 

JOB PURPOSE:  Develop a Child Protection Program strategy in cooperation with Program staff and others; identify and assess local partners for Program implementation; build capacity of partners as required; annual planning; monitor and evaluate the implementation of Child Protection Programs by partners; insure reporting and Program related donor requirements are timely and of a high quality; facilitate learning and knowledge management; represent Plan Thailand in various Child Protection forums; liaison with the Government regarding Child Protection Program issues.

 

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years of demonstrated professional experience leading and managing major Child Protection Programs in Thailand; extensive experience assessing, building capacity, monitoring and cooperating with local NGOs; good knowledge of community development in Thailand; experience in implementing donor-funded projects; track record of participation, training, facilitation and awareness raising; experience of working with children and communities is an advantage; academic degree in relevant area; excellent English language skills, both oral and written; ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment; strong team-building and facilitation skills; excellent communication skills; proficient in computer skills.
